Drex Foreman Award

PURPOSE

This prestigious award, the association's highest honor, recognizes exceptional individual contributions to the Independent Agency System, the Texas insurance industry and local community. The award is named for Drex Foreman, who served as executive director of IIAT for 30 years. The award is presented at Insurcon each year.

ELIGIBILITY

Candidates must be an owner, partner, manager, employee or associate of an IIAT-member agency (but not a current officer or director of IIAT), or be an employee or former employee of IIAT. Nominations are solicited each March.

André P. Juneau ELITExan of the Year Award

PURPOSE

This annual award recognizes the achievement of young insurance agent in Texas. The winner is announced during Insurcon. Candidates must have demonstrated service to the industry, his or her professional trade associations (local, state and/or national) and community in a manner that would be considered exceptional for a person of his or her age. The award is given for career service and is not limited to activities during the past year. Nominations are solicited each February.

ELIGIBILITY

An agent must be:
> Associated with an agency that is a member in good standing of IIAT
>40 years old or younger in the year of application

Account Manager of the Year

PURPOSE

The Account Manager of the Year Award promotes the importance of the role of customer service representatives on behalf of the Independent Agency System and the citizens and communities of Texas. It is awarded annually to the customer service representative who has given his or her talent, energy and enthusiasm for the betterment of both agency and community.

ELIGIBILITY

> Candidates must work with an agency that is an IIAT member in good standing.
> Any eligible candidate may enter or be nominated for the award by completing the nomination form.

JUDGING CRITERIA

Applicants are judged based on their professional and personal contributions to their agency and community.

> $1,500 prize sponsored by Myron F. Steves & Co., Houston
> Free travel expenses and free registration to IIAT's Conference & Trade Show courtesy of IIAT

Paige Eiland Political Action Award

PURPOSE

This award recognizes the person whose political involvement has most benefited independent insurance agents. The award is named for Paige Eiland of Stanton, TX, a longtime member who worked tirelessly on behalf of agents in both state and federal political arenas.

Paige was the husband of member Elaine Eiland, the father of state representative Craig Eiland and a tireless worker on behalf of fellow agents at both the state and federal levels.
