Employment Practices Liability

Employment Practices Liability (EPL) Coverage

As an employer, you face the very real possibility of employment-related lawsuits brought by disgruntled employees or ex-employees.

Lawsuits might include allegations of:

  • Wrongful termination
  • Sexual harassment
  • Discrimination based on sex, age, disability, or race

And they might arise out of federal laws regulating employment, such as:

  • Civil Rights Act of 1966
  • Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990
  • Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967
  • Rehabilitation Act of 1973
  • Civil Rights Act of 1991
  • Family Leave Act of 1991

Employment Practices Liability (EPL)

Although limited Employment Practices Coverage may be provided in your E&O policy, we recommend standalone EPL coverage such as that provided by Scottsdale Insurance Company. Subject to underwriting approval, you may qualify for a standalone policy underwritten by Scottsdale Insurance Company with coverage features that include third-party coverage, limits up to $5 million (or more) and prior acts coverage.
