Find an insurance company

You must have an appointment with an insurance carrier that is licensed to operate in Texas.

For help in obtaining a company appointment, a requirement for obtaining the property and casualty agent license, IIAT maintains the Company Appointment Guide which is updated annually.

TDI also maintains a downloadable database of companies licensed to do business in Texas. For additional information on any company with which you plan to do business, TDI will provide you with general company information, contact information, types of insurance the company writes, company history, financial information and complaint ratio.

You can also check current company ratings and information at A.M. Best.
