to support campaigns of candidates for legislative, judicial and executive branch offices. IMPACT, the largest insurance-producer
political action program in Texas, has been one of the state's major political action committees since it was begun in 1972.
It is one of the first political action committees formed under a new law allowing their creation.
Political offices targeted for contributions:

- Selections of campaign contributions are made after review by IIAT governmental affairs staff, the IMPACT board of trustees, IMPACT regional vice presidents and local association leaders
- Checks for candidates are presented to candidates in person by an IIAT member or IIAT staff member
- All income, including names of all donors, and all candidate campaign contributions are reported to the Texas Ethics
