Ryan Deeds is an insurance operation and IT executive. Glenn is a sixth-generation Texan who grew up farming land that has been in his family since the mid-1800s. He’s a 1993 graduate of Texas A&M University and earned his law degree at St. Mary’s University. Glenn has served in the Texas Legislature, where he worked on issues including public education, transportation, tax reform, government transparency, Second Amendment rights, water issues and tort reform.
As comptroller, Glenn is chief finance officer for the world’s ninth-largest economy. A leader, a combat veteran, the first woman pilot on the Thunderbirds Air Demonstration Squadron, a White House Fellow, and an inductee into both the National Women’s Hall of Fame and the Women in Aviation International Pioneer Hall of Fame, Nicole’s distinguished 21-year Air Force career exceeded her wildest dreams. But the dream came to an end when a devastating tick-borne illness left her struggling greatly to speak or walk for almost nine months. An indomitable spirit, Nicole fought back against overwhelming odds and prevailed. Joan Woodward is President of The Travelers Institute and Executive Vice President of Public Policy for The Travelers Companies, Inc. She is a member of the company’s Executive Management Committee and Operating Committee, and serves on the Travelers Foundation Board.
Woodward joined Travelers in 2008 from Goldman, Sachs & Co., where she was the founding Executive Director of the company’s Global Markets Institute. During her ten years at Goldman Sachs, she also established the Washington Equity Research operation for the firm, serving as its first Director of Washington Research within the Global Economic Research division. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs, Woodward worked on Capitol Hill for 12 years, serving as Deputy Chief of Staff for the U.S. Senate Finance Committee, as well as Chief Economist for the Senate Governmental Affairs Committee, and the U.S. House of Representatives Budget Committee.
She currently serves on the Board of Directors of Plunk, a technology company. Joan also serves on the Board of the United States Chamber of Commerce Foundation, is Vice Chairman of the Board of the RAND Institute for Civil Justice, and a member of the President’s National Small and Medium Enterprise Export Council. She is engaged with numerous community and charitable groups. Woodward holds bachelor’s degrees in economics and political science and a master’s degree in public administration all from American University.
