IIAT Endorses Governor Greg Abbott for Re-Election at Houston Campaign Stop

IIAT leadership and members met with Governor Greg Abbott in Houston on February 4 to announce IIAT’s endorsement of the Governor for re-election.

Independent insurance agents play a vital role in serving Texas families and businesses, and IIAT believes steady, proven leadership is essential to maintaining a strong economic environment for those communities.

“Independent insurance agents know how important steady leadership is for Texas families and businesses,” said IIAT President & Executive Director Marit Peters. “Governor Abbott has a clear commitment to economic growth, prioritizing affordability for Texas families, and maintaining our strong business climate. We are thrilled to support his reelection!”

Advocacy is central to IIAT’s mission. As the leading voice for independent insurance agents in Texas, IIAT works year-round at the Capitol and with state leaders to promote policies that support a competitive insurance marketplace, protect consumer choice, and allow independent agencies to operate and grow. IIAT’s advocacy efforts focus on legislative and regulatory issues that directly impact agents’ ability to serve their customers and strengthen the communities where they live and work.

IIAT’s endorsement reflects its continued commitment to engaging with policymakers who recognize the value of independent insurance agents to the Texas economy and who are willing to work collaboratively to address industry challenges.
