Marit's Leadership Book Club: First Break All the Rules

First, Break All the Rules: What the World's Greatest Managers Do Differently by Marcus Buckingham and Curt Coffman results from a Gallup Study of 80,000 managers that will challenge lots of managers’ preconceived notions on what brings out the best performance of employees. The 12-key ideas it shares will improve management skills, result in more engaged employees and help managers retain growth-oriented employees. It’s where I learned that employees quit managers, not companies. Also, I learned that people don’t change that much, so stop trying so hard to do that! Subtitled "What the World’s Greatest Managers Do Differently," the book is an excellent guide for all levels of management. Originally published in 1999, the book is available in hardcover, paperback, audiobook and electronic versions from major retail bookstores and online.
