Members to Vote on IIAT By-laws Amendment at Annual Business Meeting

IIAT members will vote on a proposed addition to the association’s By-laws during the Annual Business Meeting at INSURCON on Tuesday, June 16, held in conjunction with the Industry Excellence Lunch.

The proposed amendment would add a new item to Article IV, Section 1, which establishes the Board of Directors as the policy-making body of the association. The amendment will establish the Board of Directors as trustees for IIAT’s political action committee, IMPACT. View IIAT’s By-Laws with the proposed addition (Article IV, Section I, C, in red text).

Proposed Amendment to Article IV, Section 1

c. shall serve as the directors or trustees of the Association's political action committee.

The Board of Directors has approved this amendment and is recommending this change to the membership at the Annual Business Meeting. Under IIAT’s By-laws, amendments may be adopted by a majority vote of the members present at a regular meeting of the association, provided that members receive at least 30 days’ notice of the general nature of the proposed change.

In addition to the business meeting, the Industry Excellence Lunch will feature Texas Insurance Commissioner Amanda Crawford as a special guest speaker. IIAT will also announce the winners of its annual member awards, including the Drex Foreman Award, ELITExan Young Agent of the Year, and Account Manager of the Year awards.
