IIAT was deeply saddened to learn of Robert Crosby's passing on June 6, 2022. Robert was the Executive Director of IIA San Antonio. He spent more than 50 years in the insurance industry as an agency owner with Faught Insurance in Houston and Crosby, Bigelow, Fitzgerald Insurance Associates in San Antonio. He was also a Managing Partner with Wortham Insurance in San Antonio. After retiring from Wortham Insurance in 2015, he immediately assumed the role of Executive Director of the Independent Insurance Agents of San Antonio. Insurance was his passion.
Recently, Robert formed a collaboration with the Alamo Colleges and The National Alliance to develop a Youth Apprenticeship Program that allows underserved youth to find career paths in the insurance industry. He was on the cusp of finalizing the inauguration of this initiative when he passed away. "The fulfillment of his goals to launch this program are the epitome of his passion to give back to the industry he so loved. The IIAT team is committed to supporting IIA San Antonio to achieve Robert's dream," said IIAT Chief Legislative Office Lee Loftis.
The IIAT family extends condolences to Robert’s wife Kate, his children and grandchildren.
