The Big “I" Diversity Council Launches the Inclusive Agency Training Series

The Big “I" Diversity Council is pleased to launch the Inclusive Agency Training Series, which was designed especially for your members.

Although many agencies aspire to create a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment, many leaders struggle with determining where to begin. Additionally, most of the diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) training programs currently available are not designed to meet the needs of smaller businesses. This is particularly challenging for independent agencies that do not have HR departments or dedicated teams to focus on diversity and inclusion initiatives.

This new four-part training series will be accessible both online and through a workbook pdf—and is free for all Big “I" members.

The Big “I" Diversity Council will also host a live conversation with nationally recognized sales and marketing business leader, Kelly McDonald, about advancing diversity, equity and inclusion in your agency on Friday, March 31 at 2 p.m. ET. Brandon Okita, chair of the Big “I" Diversity Council, will field your questions during the 20-minute live session. Additional information and registration is available online.

In addition, the Diversity Council is pleased to announce that McDonald will join us in person on Friday, April 28, as the keynote speaker at the Diversity Luncheon during the Big “I" Legislative Conference. During this session, McDonald will provide practical steps to build a more diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace. Registration for the luncheon is $35 with the option to also purchase McDonald's book, “How to Work With and Lead People Not Like You."

Founded in 2002, the Diversity Council is a collaborative group of independent agents and insurance company representatives focused on engaging and developing a sustainable diverse independent agency channel by partnering with state associations and multicultural affinity groups.
