Last Call to Register for Big ‘I’ Legislative Conference

Time is running out to register for next week's Big “I" Virtual Legislative Conference, which is scheduled to take place April 13-16. This is the premier legislative event for the independent agency system, and with each session starting at 2 p.m. ET and only running 45-60 minutes—no travel, no time away— everyone has a chance to hear from top legislators and industry leaders on issues that will affect your members and their clients.

This two-page summary outlines the priorities of the Big “I" and can be used in virtual constituent meetings with members of Congress or their staff.

Congressional offices are conducting virtual constituent meetings in a variety of ways. If you are meeting with a congressional office virtually, remember to schedule meetings any time after the legislative issues briefing—between Thursday, April 15 and close of business Thursday, April 29.

Help the government affairs team track meetings on the Hill by sharing details of any appointments with Nathan Riedel.

The four-day event starts Tuesday, April 13 with the opening session, Congressional Leaders: Agenda for Small Business. Hear remarks from congressional leaders and from the Big “I" Legislator of the Year. Legislative awards will also be presented. Guest speakers include House Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-South Carolina); Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (R-Missouri) in a discussion with Charles Symington, Big “I" senior vice president of external, industry and government affairs; and Sen. Rick Scott (R-Florida) in a conversation with Bob Rusbuldt, Big "I" president & CEO.

On Wednesday, April 14, attendees will get a quick update from four members of the Big “I" Capitol Hill team on federal legislative and political priorities.

Thursday, April 15, the session, Capitol Hill: Messages from the Middle, includes remarks from moderates in the new Congress. The InsurPac and Dan Fulwider awards will also be presented. Guest speakers include Sen. Joe Manchin (D-West Virginia) and Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-New Jersey) will be speaking with Symington.

Friday, April 16, the closing session brings Big "I" chairman Jon Jensen's address on the state of the industry and our association. And bring your questions for a Q&A with FOX News anchor Bill Hemmer.

Don't miss the Big “I" Virtual Legislative Conference. Register now to attend—registration is free for Big “I" members.
