ELITExas and IIAT Raise More than $8K for Unbound Now

ELITExas, IIAT's young professionals’ group, is proud to announce that they raised $8,295 for Unbound Now, a Texas-based organization that supports survivors and helps communities fight human trafficking.

ELITExas raised $3,295 at its “Cornhole for a Cause” fundraiser at IIAT’s annual conference, INSURCON, on Wednesday, June 21, at the JW Marriott Hill Country San Antonio. Conference attendees made donations for the chance to compete in a cornhole tournament. IIAT made an additional donation of $5,000.

Unbound Now provides support services for survivors and offers resources to help communities fight human trafficking. The organization fights for the protection of the vulnerable, identifies the exploited, and advocates for survivors on their path to restoration. Since 2012, Unbound Now has grown into a multi-national nonprofit serving 11 locations in the United States and around the world. Since its start, Unbound Now survivor advocates have served more than 2,100 survivors of human trafficking.

ELITExas member Tyler Spears, managing partner at BKCW in Austin, presented a check to Unbound Now Austin’s Executive Director Liz Griffin during IIAT’s Annual Awards Brunch at INSURCON. “The individuals we work with have goals and dreams, just like anybody else. This donation will help the people we serve across the state come closer to achieving their goals,” said Griffin.
